Can anything get worse for the Jacksonville Jaguars? It's been an incredibly messy offseason so far and we're only in February. The front office has been unable to acquire any of their top head-coaching candidates and seems to have lost the interest of Byron Leftwich. Luckily, there are at least two candidates still interested in the job.

According to Rick Stroud, Leftwich is apparently removing “himself from consideration for the Jaguars head coaching job soon.” It was rumored that Byron Leftwich had wanted the job, only if Jacksonville fired general Manager Trent Baalke. Now, it's looking like the franchise has made another blunder.

The good news is, Rich Bisaccia and Doug Pederson are still in contention for the head coaching gig. Although neither of them are the Jaguars' first choice, Jacksonville might have to settle for one of them. It's extremely telling that Byron Leftwich would rather remain as an offensive coordinator than work with Baalke altogether.

We'll see how this all plays out, but the Jaguars are in a world of hurt right now. None of the top coaching candidates showed much interest in the franchise, despite Jacksonville having Trevor Lawrence, plenty of cap space, and favorable draft picks. With the fan base turning against them, this organization might have just hit rock bottom.

It's been an embarrassing time for the Jaguars and there is no telling how long they'll remain in the gutter. Byron Leftwich would have been an amazing hire, but due to Jacksonville's incompetence, they won't be able to acquire a young coach with a ton of potential.

Keep an eye on Rich Bisaccia and Doug Pederson, as it's looking like one of them will be named the new head coach of the Jacksonville Jaguars soon. They're not the ideal hire, but Bisaccia and Pederson have a promising track record. At the very least, they'll do a better job than Urban Meyer.
