It has been brutal for the Jacksonville Jaguars for quite some time. However, the 2021 season has been an embarrassing display of football. The franchise still has a ton of exciting pieces to build around, but this year has been one to forget. Especially for rookie quarterback Trevor Lawrence.

The Jaguars' rookie quarterback has experienced the first losing season of his football career. However, it has been such a bad year, that Lawrence has broken a rookie record nobody wants on their resume, per NFL on CBS.

Many were hopeful that Lawrence and the Jaguars could play better with Urban Meyer out of the picture. Instead, Jacksonville has maintained its awful play and continues to look like the worst team in the league. It has been a brutal example of football in general, and Lawrence will take this horrific season into the history books for all the wrong reasons.

With the Jaguars eliminated from the playoffs, the front office will focus on the offseason soon. Jacksonville will be interviewing head coaching candidates and going further into their evaluation of the incoming rookie class.

The Jaguars shouldn't rush any decision and make sure they make the right choices. Jacksonville offers everything a head coach desires to have: a decent young core to build around, a rookie quarterback with all of the talent in the world, a ton of cap space, and a plethora of draft picks. It's everything this franchise offered Urban Meyer, but he failed to be the leader this team needed.

We'll see how the Jaguars do in the offseason, as they could get aggressive in an attempt to turn the ship around right away. As for Trevor Lawrence, he's surely looking forward to the offseason to put this year behind him.
