Jacksonville Jaguars quarterback Trevor Lawrence suffered an apparent lower-body injury in the fourth quarter of Monday night's game against the Cincinnati Bengals. Lawrence was helped off the field and it doesn't look like he will be able to return to the game.

The Jaguars have announced Lawrence is questionable to return to the Bengals game, though, that sounds like leaning more on the optimistic side, considering how bad the injury looked when it happened. Lawrence was surveying the field in the pocket when offensive tackle Walker Little accidentally stepped on the signal-caller's ankle, leaving the former No. 1 overall pick grimacing in pain.

Before he left the field, Lawrence was able to throw for a total of 258 passing yards and two touchdowns with zero interceptions on 22-for-29 completions. He also scored a rushing touchdown with eight yards on the ground on five carries.

With Trevor Lawrence out, the Jaguars are forced to turn to C.J. Beathard, who is the only other QB on the active roster of Jacksonville, as noted by Tom Pelissero of the NFL Network.

“Jaguars QB Trevor Lawrence is officially questionable to return with an ankle injury. C.J. Beathard is the only other QB on the #Jaguars' active roster. He last started a game in 2020 with San Francisco,” Pelissero noted.

The Jaguars are hoping that Lawrence's injury is not the type that will end his season, especially with Jacksonville in the thick of the race for a playoff spot. They entered Week 13 with an 8-3 record — the best in the AFC South division.
