After just 13 games into his first season with the Jacksonville Jaguars, head coach Urban Meyer was fired. Between his unprofessional conduct in the locker room and antics off the field earlier in the year at an Ohio bar, the team made the decision to cut ties.

The worst case of all, Meyer won’t be paid a dime for the remaining four years of his contract with the Jaguars, According to Adam Schefter of ESPN.

A source within the organization said the Jaguars’ reasons for withholding the remaining guarantees are not tied to one specific incident — but rather a cumulation of instances that Jacksonville’s officials believe justified the firing.

Meyer’s tenure with Jacksonville was downright miserable, leading the team to a dismal 2-11 record. Jaguars owner Shad Khan apparently decided to part ways with the former Ohio State coach following last Sunday’s loss to the Tennessee Titans. However, former kicker Josh Lambo’s truth bomb on Meyer kicking him in practice in August didn’t play a part in the decision. Khan already made up his mind.

Considering his behavior, it’s not exactly surprising that Meyer won’t be getting paid. The way he spoke to other coaches and players was downright wrong and frankly, it’s hard to ever see him finding another job in the NFL again.

It’s either back to college or time for Meyer to retire. The Jaguars will be better off without him.
