Jessica Claire Biel was born in Ely, Minnesota, on March 3, 1982. Her mother, Kimberly, was a homemaker and spiritual healer, while her father, Jonathan, was a business consultant and an employee at General Electric.

During her childhood, Jessica Biel’s family moved to a lot of places like Texas, Connecticut, and Woodstock, Illinois, before finally settling in Boulder, Colorado. Growing up she played soccer and was training as a level-six gymnast.

Jessica partnered with her younger brother, Justin, to launch an eco-accessory line called “BARE”. Her brother runs the business alongside her best friend Grason Ratowsy.

Biel initially trained to be a vocalist. She appeared in several musical productions in her hometown at the age of 9 years old. She played lead roles in projects such as The Sound of Music and Beauty and the Beast.

When she was 11, Jessica Biel participated in a competition sponsored by the International Modeling and Talent Association in Los Angeles. After the event, she acquired a professional talent manager and an agent. She then began to model for print advertisements and commercials for products such as Dulux Paint and Pringles.

In her first film appearance, Jessica Biel portrayed the character Regrettal, the lead role in the musical movie It’s a Digital World. At the age of 14 years old, she was cast as Mary Camden in the family drama 7th Heaven.

Jessica Biel landed her first feature film role in the 1997 drama film Ulee’s Gold. She won the Young Artist Awards’ Best Performance in a Feature Film: Supporting Young Actress for her performance.

When she was 17, she posed for a photoshoot for the March 2000 issue of American men’s magazine Gear. Since it was a risque photoshoot, the producers of 7th Heaven brought legal action against the magazine. Biel eventually expressed regret for doing the shoot, claiming that she was shown different pictures than the ones that are published.

Biel was cast in the 2003 slasher film The Texas Chainsaw Massacre. The movie received negative reviews but was a commercial success as it was number one in its opening week and earned more than $80 million in the U.S.

In 2003, Biel was cast in the third installment of the Blade film series titled “Blade: Trinity”. The movie earned negative reviews but was ultimately a box office hit as it grossed $150 million worldwide.

Esquire named Jessica Biel as the “Sexiest Woman Alive” in 2005. It was a six-part series with each monthly issue revealing a different body part and clue to her identity.

The following year, Biel starred alongside Nicolas Cage in Home of the Brave, a drama film about soldiers struggling to adjust back into society after coming home from war.

She then appeared in the 2007 comedy film I Now Pronounce You Chuck and Larry, co-starring Adam Sandler and Kevin James. In the same year, Stuff magazine ranked her No. 1 on their 100 Sexiest Women list.

Jessica Biel performed the role of Sarah Brown with the Los Angeles Philharmonic in a fully staged concert production of Guys and Dolls during the 2009 season at the Hollywood Bowl. She then joined Salma Hayek in the two-week-long workshop of the musical version of Women on the Verge of a Nervous Breakdown at the Lincoln Center Theater.

In 2010, she portrayed the character of Captain Charissa Sosa in the movie adaptation of the TV series A-Team. In the same year, she was part of the ensemble cast of the romantic comedy film Valentine’s Day. She was also part of the cast of 2011’s New Year’s Eve, which was directed by the same director of Valentine’s Day.

In 2012, Jessica Biel starred alongside Colin Farrell and Kate Beckinsale in the remake of the 1990 science fiction movie Total Recall.

On January 28, 2013, she starred in the thriller film Emanuel and the Truth About Fishes which premiered at the Sundance Film Festival.

On February 10, 2015, she co-starred with Jake Gyllenhaal in the political satire film Nailed. Biel started working on the film in April 2008. Unfortunately, the film received negative reviews from critics.

In 2016, Biel starred alongside The A-Team castmate Patrick Wilson in the thriller titled “A Kind of Murder”. In the same year, she appeared in the drama film The Book of Love based on the book The Devil and the Deep Blue Sea. She co-stars with Jason Sudeikis and Maisie Williams.

Aside from movies, she also lent her voice and made appearances in multiple television programs.

Biel appeared as herself in a 2004 episode of Johnny Bravo. She also portrayed the character of Brooke in 2 episodes of Family Guy.

In 2009, she appeared in a Saturday Night Live skit. And in 2014, she guest-starred in an episode of New Girl as Kat.

From 2016 to 2018, Jessica Biel was a recurring guest star in the animated tragicomedy sitcom BoJack Horseman. She played the fictional version of herself as Mr. Peanutbutter’s ex-wife.

As for her relationship with Justin Timberlake, the pair reportedly started dating each other in 2007.

Jessica Biel is also active in multiple charitable causes. In 2007, she co-founded the Make the Difference Network along with her father and business partner, Kent McBride.

In 2010, she climbed to the top of Mount Kilimanjaro with members of the United Nations Foundation in order to raise awareness of the global water crisis. In the same year, Biel was nominated for a Do Something Award, a global nonprofit organization that aims to motivate young people to make a change through offline and online campaigns that make an impact.

Jessica Biel also partnered with WomanCare Global, a nonprofit health care organization that aims to develop content that will provide girls with sex education.

Most recently, Jessica Biel was the executive producer of the teen drama television series titled “Cruel Summer”. She also lent her voice in an episode of the animated series Scooby-Doo and Guess Who?
