The ongoing debate over who holds the title of the Greatest of All Time (GOAT) in hip-hop continues to be a hot topic in the industry, HipHopDX reports. Lil Wayne, a prominent figure in the rap world, has consistently voiced his opinion that Jay-Z is the GOAT. However, his label-mate Juvenile disagrees.

During the recent BMI R&B/Hip-Hop Awards in Miami, Juvenile shared his perspective on the matter. He revealed that he and Lil Wayne have had friendly arguments over the years about who deserves the title of GOAT in hip-hop.

“We've argued over the years. He says JAY-Z is the G.O.A.T., I say he's the G.O.A.T.,” Juvenile stated. “My lil' bro is the greatest rapper of all time. He knows how I feel about that.”

Lil Wayne has made his admiration for Jay-Z clear in interviews and has often credited him as a significant influence on his career. In particular, Wayne has expressed his deep appreciation for Jay-Z's 1999 album “Vol. 3… Life and Times of S. Carter,” revealing that he has lyrics from the record permanently tattooed on his body.

While Juvenile may have a different perspective on the GOAT debate, Jay-Z's stature as a rap icon is widely acknowledged in the industry. In fact, earlier this year, Billboard and VIBE both crowned Jay-Z as the Greatest Rapper of All Time, citing factors such as his commercial success, critical acclaim, cultural impact, entrepreneurial achievements, and nearly three decades of longevity in the game.

However, as the hip-hop community continues to engage in friendly debates over the GOAT title, it's evident that Jay-Z's legacy remains a central point of discussion and admiration.
