Minnesota Timberwolves big man Karl-Anthony Towns became the league's fifth player ever to win the Rookie of the Year award unanimously this past season.

Thursday, the National Basketball Players Association named Towns the 2016 Best Rookie during the Players Voice Awards, announcing it on social media.

Towns averaged 18.3 points, 10.5 rebounds, and 1.7 blocks per game last season. He set the Timberwolves’ franchise rookie scoring record while doubling any rookie's recorded amount of double-doubles with 51.

Towns' confidence is sky high, and he told reporters feels he has the ability to become the best player in the world:

I have the confidence in myself. I have everything I think to do it. Now it’s all up to me, to execute. Everyone in the NBA has the ability to do that. We all have the ability to be the best player in the world. Just matters who puts more time and puts more work in and who’s more fortunate enough to make it happen with the right situation.

For his impact on the game, congratulations to Towns for being selected by his peers as the Best Rookie.
