Kevin Durant is coming off the most successful season of his career in which he was named Finals MVP helping the Warriors to their second title in the last three years.

Now he's spending time in India for his summer, and shortly after his arrival he has already set a Guinness World Record for the largest basketball lesson ever on Friday in New Delhi by leading a group of 3,459 people through drills.

Durant had this to say about it, via USA TODAY Sports:

“Sharing my love of basketball with thousands of boys and girls across India was an unbelievable experience,” Durant said. “It was an honor to coach these amazing kids and to be a part of this special day.”

“Sports (have) the ability to unite people, and this record-setting NBA clinic led by Finals MVP Kevin Durant helped us connect young basketball players throughout the country in a single event,” said NBA India managing director Yannick Colaco.

It's become common for NBA players to travel around the world during the offseason. Durant's teammates, Steph Curry and Klay Thompson, have made their way through Asia while promoting their new shoes and brands.

Durant will be doing some of the same but it's very cool that in the meantime he is breaking records like this, helping to spread the love of the sport across the globe.
