It's been an interesting offseason for the Seattle Seahawks but the franchise is hopeful for success. It'll be difficult with the quarterback group they have, but there are some exciting aspects on the roster. Pete Carroll will do everything in his power to keep his team competitive, but he'll need everyone to step up. We go over one key position group to make the biggest impact for the Seahawks in the 2022 NFL season.
Playoffs should not be a goal for this organization right now as it's more important to acquire young players and develop them. There is still a chance the Seahawks trade for Baker Mayfield or another veteran quarterback, but it's looking like it'll either be Geno Smith or Drew Lock under center. For that reason, it's hard to imagine the wide receiver group making much noise.
Additionally, Carroll has a tendency to run the ball often. He's an advocate for establishing the run and will likely see that through in the upcoming season. Luckily for the Seahawks, they have some solid options in the backfield, which should make the running backs the focal point of the offensive attack.
With that said, here is our key position group to make the most significant impact for the Seahawks in the 2022 NFL season.

Seahawks Key Position Group For 2022 NFL Season
Running Backs

The run game should and will be the featured aspect of this offense. Carroll has a history of sticking to the run even when his team is down big late in the game. Regardless, the Seahawks will have some stability on the ground, as Smith and Lock are questionable quarterbacks.
Rashaad Penny played well last season for Seattle and should maintain a role in the backfield. Due to his experience in the league, Penny will likely win the starting job to begin the upcoming NFL season. Especially with Chris Carson recovering from a neck injury. Regardless, the Seahawks running back is primed to have a big year and prove he's the steady run option the franchise has always hoped he could be.
Meanwhile, Seattle acquired Kenneth Walker III in the NFL Draft. He has all of the potential in the world to be a solid contributor as a pure rusher. However, since he is a rookie, Walker will likely serve as a backup option to begin his career. If the Seahawks play their cards right, they could have a solid duo leading the way in the backfield.
For Seattle to have any chance next season, the run game needs to be on point. We should see a healthy mix of both Penny and Walker, as the two of them have the tools needed to lead a backfield. Don't be shocked if the Seahawks start the year giving Rashaad Penny the starting role with a 60-40 split.
Kenneth Walker III will have plenty of opportunities throughout the 2022 NFL season. So much so, that there's a real chance he becomes the starter late in the year. If that's the case, then the Seahawks are only going to improve. Keep an eye on this backfield, as Seattle should be utilizing the run more often than not.
