As the New York Knicks have dominated the headlines this offseason, they do have some young prospects on the roster should they ultimately embrace a full rebuild. Led by Kristaps Porzingis, Willy Hernangomez and Mindaugas Kuzminskas also showed potential in their rookie seasons.

Before the 2017-18 NBA season begins, Porzingis and Kuzminskas matched up against each other as part of the build up for EuroBasket 2017. For at least one possession, the second-year forward got the better of his rising stars teammate according to BasketNews:

With Phil Jackson no longer the team's President, the direction is currently unclear with the new front office led by President Steve Mills and general manager Scott Perry. It remains to be seen if Carmelo Anthony will be in uniform in their season opener against the Oklahoma City Thunder.

While it would benefit the franchise to rebuild around Porzingis, Anthony is only willing to waive his no-trade clause for the Houston Rockets, who can realistically offer Ryan Anderson's remaining three-year, $60 million deal. As a result, a third team like the Portland Trail Blazers who could offer Moe Harkless would likely have to get involved.
