Kourtney Kardashian Baker became vulnerable about her journey to her recent pregnancy, which included rounds of unsuccessful IVF treatment. The Lemme founder opened up to her followers on her Instagram Story Monday (May 27) and answered a question one of her fans asked about her pregnancy journey. The eldest Kardashian sister corrected the fan that she had six failed IVF treatments and asked her, “How did you find the strength to keep going? It's debilitating.”
“I stopped after a year of trying (5 failed IVF cycles, 3 retrievals) my body relaxed and I believed in God's plan for my life,” Kardashian Barker wrote. “Lots of prayers for whatever was meant to be for us. Also lots of optimizing my health. [pray emoji and red heart emoji] I know how hard it is to feel like you're not trying, but believing in God's plan and saying your prayers is so powerful. All the best!”
She later cleared up about how her son Rocky was conceived on her Story.
“I want to be super clear bc it seems my answer to the IVF question may have been confusing… I got pregnant 100% naturally, NOT through IVF…one year after stopping IVF actually. Through God's blessing on Valentine's Day,” the reality star wrote on a photo of her showing her then-growing belly.
Kourtney Kardashian Baker Shares Her IVF Journey On The Kardashians
This is not the first time Kardashian Baker has spoken about her IVF journey. She spoke about it during the last season of The Kardashians.
“I would love a baby more than anything, but I just really believe in what God has in store for us. If that’s a baby, then I believe that it will happen,” the reality star said before confirming that the couple were “officially done with IVF” per US Weekly.
The Poosh founder recalled freezing her eggs in the past and ultimately not getting the result she wanted.
“The freezing of the eggs isn’t guaranteed. I think that that’s a misunderstanding. People do it thinking it’s a safety net and then it’s not,” she continued. “Most of them didn’t survive the thaw and then none of them made it to an embryo.”
Kardashian said that ultimately the decision was made because it was jeopardizing her health.
“My health is still impacted because it’s hormones. And also mentally, it definitely took a toll. So I think just being happy is most important as being a good parent to my kids. We are just embracing that whatever’s meant to be will be.”
Ultimately the couple was able to conceive their son Rocky naturally which happened on Valentine's Day.
“We were not trying whatsoever. I wasn't even checking my ovulation anymore. We decided to put it in God's hands and thought it was just not happening. We were accepting of it and then… God's plan,” the reality star shared.
