A lot of players have come to the Los Angeles Lakers with high expectations surrounding them, only to fail and end up leaving the team to go play elsewhere. Unfortunately, Brooklyn Nets big man Andre Drummond is one.

The veteran signed a one-year deal with the Lakers last March after agreeing to a buyout with the Cleveland Cavaliers. Many believed Drummond could add a nice spark to LA in their frontcourt, but he struggled immensely to make an impact.

Drummond recently spoke on how difficult it was to play for Los Angeles. Via Pickuphoops on Twitter:

“Yeah the Lakers is exactly what you think it is man, you gotta be built differently to play for that organization, you gotta be mentally strong not only on the court but off the court too because there's so much expectations to being a Laker and putting that purple and gold on because if you ain't living up to expectations they will let you know you ain't worthy enough to put on that jersey.”

Drummond averaged 11.9 points and 10.2 rebounds per game for the Lakers in 25 games. Not awful numbers by any means, but they were expecting more from the former Piston.

Now, he's in a starting role with the Nets but it's unclear what direction they're heading in as Kyrie Irving's future looks to be in jeopardy. Nevertheless, Andre Drummond clearly cherishes the time he had playing for such a storied franchise as the Lakers. It's too bad it didn't turn out better for him.
