Amid the Los Angeles Lakers' four-game losing streak, LeBron James remains as a potential MVP candidate this season. He's averaging 25.6 points, 8.0 assists, and 8.1 rebounds per game. Just an absolutely amazing feat considering he's 36 years old.

The Lakers won the championship last season in the NBA bubble and aim to do so again as they currently rest in third place in the stacked Western Conference. Although James is in the race for the MVP trophy this year, Anthony Davis shared his opinion on James' mindset if he were to lose the coveted award to someone else:

“Put it to you like this,” Davis said, via Bill Oram in The Athletic. “I know that that man does not care about MVP awards. He cares about championships. So if he loses the MVP and wins the championship like he did last year, he doesn’t care. So that’s what his mindset is, he’s not focused on MVPs. He’s focused on Finals MVPs.”

Anthony Davis literally describes a winning mindset with his take on LeBron James. As a player who has faced scrutiny throughout his career, James is on the path of silencing the critics by the time the Lakers superstar retires.

James is chasing more than just trophies, he's chasing a legacy. With four rings in his collection already, James hopes to acquire a fifth by the end of this year. Additionally, he's inching closer to Kareem Abdul-Jabbar's all-time scoring record as well.

Constantly being compared to Michael Jordan, LeBron James is attempting to make a strong case to be considered as the greatest player of all time, otherwise known as the GOAT. If LeBron keeps up his high level of play, he may surpass Jordan in titles and Abdul-Jabbar's scoring title before it's all said and done.
