Los Angeles Lakers point guard Rajon Rondo remains out of the lineup, as the veteran signal caller continues to battle a strained hamstring.

With Rondo still battling the lingering setback, Lakers head coach Frank Vogel recently gave an update regarding the seasoned point guard's status.

Rondo, although seemingly heading in the right direction health wise, is still fending off “some soreness,” according to Vogel.

Despite the fact that Rondo has been out of the Lakers' lineup for quite some time, Los Angeles continues to roll in Vogel's first season at the helm.

As it stands today, the Lakers own the best record in the entire Western Conference, sporting a stellar 20-3 mark. With the tandem of superstar forward LeBron James and former New Orleans Pelicans All-Star big man Anthony Davis absolutely taking it to opponent after opponent, Rondo has been able to continue to heal up without rushing back to the court.

As the once heralded Golden State Warriors are no longer in the postseason picture in the West, it appears as though it will be the Lakers to lose in the end.

With injuries ravaging the Warriors this season after Golden State strung together five consecutive conference championships, the Lakers quickly became the kings of the West with James back to full health and Davis playing the best basketball of his career.

If the Lakers are able to add a healthy Rondo to the mix down the road, Los Angeles will have more weapons than it can count.
