Los Angeles Lakers second-year guard Josh Hart doesn't have much to say about the team's defensive struggles.

Josh Hart stressed that the Lakers need to put more ā€˜attention to detail' on the defensive end of the ball. They have lost their last two match-ups by a combined eight points ā€” bowing down to the San Antonio Spurs last Saturday, 110-106, and coming up short against the Minnesota Timberwolves on Monday, 120-116.

It has become increasingly frustrating for the Purple & Gold players, especially for LeBron James who hinted that his patience is running out as they continue to make the same mistakes.

The offensive production is there, but the Lakers are nowhere near where they want to be when it comes to defense. The ā€˜attention to detail' perspective is significant, yes. However, it's clear in LeBron's tone and previous comments that a lack of effort and hustle could be the biggest issue.

The Lakers are rich with talent. Young players like Hart, Kyle Kuzma, Lonzo Ball and Brandon Ingram have all improved since James' arrival. The flashy offensive style of the Lakers may be beneficial for a large market team, but it's clear defensive needs are being overlooked or simply not executed.

The Lakers have allowed at least 110 points to every team they have faced this season aside from the Phoenix Suns (106). Los Angeles has a defensive rating of 113.2 which ranks 23rd in the league. They also rank 25th in defensive rebounding percentage with 70.3.

Furthermore, the Lakers rank 18th in opponents second-chance points with 13.7. These are all very important aspects to their defense that they need to address if they are going to stand a chance in the Western Conference.
