The Los Angeles Lakers have not played as well as they had hoped this season, they currently have a record of 23-23 and hold the seventh seed in the Western Conference.

The Lakers were considered a favorite to win the NBA title heading into the season. Unless they can start figuring things out, it is improbable that this Lakers team will be able to win a championship at this time.

Kevin Love of the Cleveland Cavaliers, who played college basketball with Russell Westbrook and won a ring with LeBron James with the Cavs, had the following to say about the Lakers' recent struggles,

“I think if AD comes back healthy and is motivated, he takes that team to a different stratosphere… Wouldn’t be surprised if they[Lakers] figure it out, I would say All-Star break, after the All-Star break. I do feel like they will make some noise. How far they will go? I don’t know. But I think some of the expectations and scrutiny is, I’m not gonna say ‘unwarranted,’ but in some ways, unfair.”

Kevin Love is absolutely correct in all he said here. The Lakers have a lot of talent on their roster, so it's doubtful that they'll spend an entire season without working things out. It won't be simple for them to turn things around, but they'll have to make some critical decisions at the NBA trade deadline in order to bring back some players who they believe can improve on what they have now.
