Los Angeles Lakers second-year small forward Kyle Kuzma will be day-to-day moving forward after an MRI on his right ankle came back clean, according to Shams Charania of The Atheltic and Stadium.

Kuzma suffered the injury on Monday in the Lakers' home loss to the Clippers. The swingman didn't practice on Tuesday, according to head coach Luke Walton.

In 60 games this season for the Lakers, Kyle Kuzma is averaging 18.8 points, 5.6 rebounds and 2.5 assists per contest. The 23-year-old is shooting 46.5 percent from the field, 31.2 percent from beyond the arc and 76.1 percent from the free-throw line.

After Monday's loss the Clippers, the Lakers are now a disappointing 30-34 on the season. It's going to take a miracle for this team to make the postseason. One could say sitting Kuzma out for the rest of the season could be an option to preserve his long-term health. But until Los Angeles is mathematically eliminated from the postseason, that likely won't happen.

Kyle Kuzma is the second-leading scorer on the team, trailing only superstar LeBron James. He joins Lonzo Ball, Tyson Chandler, Brandon Ingram and Lance Stephenson on the club's injury report.

Los Angeles hosts the Denver Nuggets on Wednesday.

It's doubtful Kuzma will be available to play in that game unless his swelling goes down a lot.
