Coming off a blowout loss at the hands of the visiting Toronto Raptors, Los Angeles Lakers sophomore forward Kyle Kuzma points to team defense and communication as major areas of concern for improvement.

The Lakers suffered a 121-107 beating from Kyle Lowry and the Raptors on Sunday night, and making it worse was the fact that Kawhi Leonard didn't even play. It was a match decided after the first 12 minutes of the game as Toronto went up by 25 points.

The Raptors were just running circles around LA's defense. At one point, Raptors power forward Pascal Siakam drove in for a wide-open dunk. And that came in a half-court set, not a transition opportunity.

Serge Ibaka, who's not really heralded on offense as much as he is on defense, exploded with 34 points on an impressive 15-of-17 shooting from the field. Lowry also finished with 15 assists, a season high for the 32-year-old point guard.

After this ugly loss, the Lakers currently sit on a 4-6 win-loss card and are 27th in the league in terms of opponent points per game. Los Angeles is hoping the looming addition of Tyson Chandler after his buyout agreement with the Phoenix Suns can help the defense at least a little bit.
