By now, everyone knows Los Angeles Lakers legend Kobe Bryant and Brooklyn Nets star point guard Kyrie Irving had a very close relationship.

To recall, Irving actually FaceTimed Bryant from his locker after the Cleveland Cavaliers defeated the Golden State Warriors in the 2016 NBA Finals in seven epic games. That’s just one anecdote detailing how much Bryant meant to Irving.

During an IG live segment recently, Irving had a very powerful quote, saying he's looking forward to playing Bryant “one-on-one in heaven.”

Irving was very emotional following the passing of Bryant, as was the entire NBA community.

Even today, it still doesn't seem real that the Lakers icon isn't with us.

As we all know, Kobe is the greatest player in Lakers franchise history and the second-best shooting guard ever after Michael Jordan. The Black Mamba had averages of 25.0 points, 5.2 rebounds and 4.7 assists with the Lakers during the regular season. He was an 18-time All-Star, two-time Finals MVP and the 2008 regular season MVP.

Bryant won five championships with the Lakers, three with Shaquille O’Neal and two more with Pau Gasol. He's set to be a first-ballot Hall of Famer later this year.

Irving scored 54 points against the Chicago Bulls and pointed toward the sky toward Bryant following the tragic passing of Kobe and his daughter Gigi.
