The dust is still settling on the Los Angeles Lakers and New Orleans Pelicans trade that made waves through the entire basketball world.

In the trade, the Lakers got superstar Anthony Davis while giving a King's ransom to the Pelicans. New Orleans got three first-rounders and the rights to swap picks in two other drafts. They also got Josh Hart, Brandon Ingram and Lonzo Ball.

Ball has been a particularly polarizing figure. His father is extremely outspoken, and he's had an up-and-down first two seasons in the NBA.

A Lakers fan took to social media to “thank” him for his time with the team. By thank, I mean insult.

Okay, a few things — and yes the Instagram post isn't the person who did this.

First of all, it's hard to understand why there's a need to burn a jersey. You already paid for the jersey so what are you proving? Just donate it or something.

Second, if you're going to “burn” the jersey — burn it you coward. Notice how the person didn't actually burn the jersey. They just insinuated it. Either do it or don't but don't pretend like you're doing it to look like a badass.

Finally, this kind of stuff is getting ridiculous. Lonzo was with the team for two years and had his highs and lows. Kind of like you'd expect from a young player. He wasn't a superstar for the Lakers, but that doesn't mean “fans” should hate him just because he left.

Also, if you bought the jersey, you clearly liked the player. I'm going to go out on a limb and say this “fan” was hyping up Lonzo Ball as the next great thing for the better part of the last two years.
