LeBron James is on a complete tear right now. He led the Los Angeles Lakers to a win over the Washington Wizards with his second 50-point performance in three games. The King now leads the NBA in points per game, proving once again he can dial his game up to unstoppable levels when he needs to.

James cooked up his most recent 50-burger against some old friends: Kyle Kuzma and Kentavious Caldwell-Pope, former lakers who were traded to Washington in the deal that brought Russell Westbrook to Los Angeles.

After the Lakers’ win, James and Kuzma shared a heartfelt, respectful moment. Although James pushed hard for the trade that sent them out of town, there is still plenty of love.

Kuzma led the Wizards with 23 points and tallied seven rebounds and three assists. Caldwell-Pope scored just four points. The Lakers played a tribute video for them to honor the roles they had in their 2020 championship team and the LA community.

Kuzma was thrilled to be back in Los Angeles, where he spent his first four NBA seasons and won a championship. His relationship with James became tight in those years. James was excited to see him and Caldwell-Pope and gave Kuzma a shoutout for the strides in his game that he has made with the Wizards.

The Lakers, at 29-27 are still just in ninth place in the Western Conference. But with James playing at such a high level, they could greatly improve their record down the homestretch of the season.
