LeBron James doesn't care about what you think. Despite what has been a largely underwhelming for the Los Angeles Lakers, King James is still unabashedly having fun.

The Lakers star spoke out on his current mood after their win over the Cleveland Cavaliers on Monday night, one in which LeBron James once again made history with his incredible 38-point triple-double.

Via Dave McMenamin of ESPN:

“I'm literally having the time of my life right now,” James said after the Lakers finished their four-game road trip by winning two of their final three. “The game's such a beautiful thing.”

When you're doing things like dunking on Kevin Love in your age-37 season, it's hard not to be loving life. It's been a challenge to compartmentalize LeBron James' individual success and accolades with the underachievement of the Lakers roster he's currently leading. But if you ask the man himself, he'd tell you that he couldn't be bothered to care about the outside criticism.

“Because I couldn't care less what the narrative about our team is,” James said. “At my point in my career, I don't get involved in that stuff. I don't read about it, I don't hear it too much. … None of that stuff matters to me, I'm having a blast playing the game of basketball.”

Lakers fans definitely go through the same struggle on the daily when it comes to appreciating LeBron James. Yes, he's been involved with some of the roster decisions more than he'd care to admit. Yes, the Lakers look like a postseason afterthought barring a wild resurgence after the return of Anthony Davis.

But you can't deny that LeBron James has looked spectacular in brief spurts that remind us that he still has a lot of gas left in the tank. At this point, it might be best to just enjoy the ride.
