Los Angeles Lakers superstar small forward LeBron James is happy how the Lakers ended December.

After losing four games in a row, the Lakers have won two straight games and are entering 2020 on the right note:

After missing the playoffs last season for the first time since his second year in the league during his first stint with the Cleveland Cavaliers, LeBron James sat back all summer and watched and heard pundits in the media slander his name after his first season with the Lakers was a failure.

As he always does, though, James took the high road and just focused on what he can control. After all, LeBron is going to be talked about regardless if the Lakers do well or not since he's a global icon.

After acquiring six-time All-Star Anthony Davis from the New Orleans Pelicans, the Lakers are once again championship contenders. LA is 26-7 on the season. They have the best record in the Western Conference and both Davis and LeBron are playing like MVPs.

James is averaging 25.1 points, 7.5 rebounds and 10.8 assists while shooting 48.7 percent from the field, 34.5 percent from beyond the arc and 68.8 percent from the free-throw line. Davis, meanwhile, is putting up 27.3 points, 9.3 rebounds and 3.3 assists and shooting 50.0 percent overall, 28.7 percent from the 3-point line and 85.3 percent from the charity stripe.

LeBron and Davis are trying to deliver banner number 17 to the Lakers franchise this season. They have a good shot at doing it since they are a lethal dynamic duo.
