The Los Angeles Lakers' new ‘Big 3' of LeBron James, Anthony Davis, and Russell Westbrook was off to a rough start against the Golden State Warriors. Though LA's 111-99 loss against Stephen Curry and the rest of the Golden State Warriors marked the 2020 champs' fifth-straight preseason loss, James and the rest of his guys aren't hitting the panic button just yet.

“It's going to take a minute for us to become the team that we know we are going to be capable of being,” James said (via ESPN). “We're going to have moments where we're not quite right there. We may take steps backwards. But that's all part of … I think nothing is worth having if it's not worth working for.”

The four-time MVP led the way for the Lakers with 17 points, six boards, and four dimes in 26 minutes of play while his new court general, Westbrook, also had an all-around game and flirted with a triple-double.

“We had some good spurts,” Westbrook added after tallying 10 points, 10 rebounds, and 6 assists. “Obviously, it's the first game. But there are some good things we can take from it. We can be a little encouraged by it.”

Laker Nation is also hoping that their starting big in Anthony Davis comes back strong after a tough '20-21 campaign riddled with injuries.

“We saw some great things with me, Bron and Russ in action,” Davis said. “There's endless possibilities, the things we can run and we can do. And even though there were good things, a lot of things that we can do better.”

Expectations are high for the new-look Lakers bringing in a former MVP in Westbrook as well as other key players like Carmelo Anthony, DeAndre Jordan, and Dwight Howard.
