LeBron James found an extra gear to lift the Los Angeles Lakers past the Utah Jazz, 106-101, on Wednesday night. In the process, the All-Star forward made franchise history with a record only shared with Elgin Baylor.

The Lakers' lore is adorned with all-time greats such as Kobe Bryant, Magic Johnson, Kareem Abdul-Jabbar, Wilt Chamberlain, Jerry West, Shaquille O'Neal, and so much more. This only makes James' feat even more impressive.

After losing Anthony Davis to a nasty ankle injury early in the game, things became murky for the home team. The Jazz stole the momentum away from the Lakers, controlling the game for the most part. With three minutes left in the game, LeBron decided to take over by scoring 10 straight points. From being down by three, James' flurry swung the tide in favor of Los Angeles to give them a three-point lead with one and a half minutes remaining.

With Davis' availability always in question and Russell Westbrook still struggling with his shot together with overall consistency, James has his hands full as the Lakers try to keep their heads above water. As impressive as his record is, the team only managed to win 10 of those 23 games. It's safe to say the future Hall of Famer would happily swap those high-scoring nights for more victories.
