According to Ohm Youngmisuk of ESPN, Los Angeles Lakers rookie point guard Lonzo Ball said he has spoken with his father, LaVar, on the phone about his brother LiAngelo's legal situation in China.

“My dad did call me but didn't give me much information,” Lonzo said. “He just said be ready to play. We are handling it out here so that is a good sign… they are out there so they are taking care of him.”

LiAngelo, the middle of three sons, was arrested along with two other UCLA men's basketball players on suspicion of shoplifting from a Louis Vuitton store in Hangzhou on Tuesday and was questioned by police.

LaVar, his two youngest sons, and his wife Tina Ball are still in China at the luxury hotel in which the team is staying because LiAngelo is still unable to leave the premises, according to an article written this morning by Tania Ganguli of the Los Angeles Times.

Lonzo must be able to take his father's advice and focus on playing basketball, as the Lakers (5-7) are set to square off with star forward Giannis Antetokounmpo and an up-and-coming Milwaukee Bucks (5-6) team on Saturday night at BMO Harris Bradley Center.

In 12 starts so far in the 2017-18 NBA regular season, Lonzo has put up pretty solid numbers with 8.9 points, 6.9 assists, 6.4 rebounds and 1.2 steals per contest in 33.1 minutes of action per game. However, the second overall pick in the 2017 NBA Draft continues to struggle with his shot and is shooting just a dismal 29.2 percent from the field.
