The Los Angeles Lakers are still doing an extensive search for their next head coach, with a number of different names on their radar including Quin Snyder, Doc Rivers, Mark Jackson, and others.

Well, the Lakers are also eyeing the former HC of Damian Lillard and the Portland Trail Blazers. The organization just interviewed Terry Stotts, who led Portland to eight consecutive playoff appearances before getting fired last offseason.

This is an interesting option for the Lakers. Stotts brings a lot of experience to the table and although he doesn't have a championship pedigree, the 64-year-old has been around coaching circles in the NBA since 1992. This is obviously a high-profile job for anyone to take and lots of pressure would come along with it. But, Stotts could be a decent hire if LA decided to go in that direction.

The Lakers were abysmal in 2021-22, missing out on the playoffs altogether due to injuries to Anthony Davis and LeBron James, while Russell Westbrook struggled immensely to fit in. They parted ways with Frank Vogel not long after the season ended. Needless to say, there are going to be a lot of changes within this franchise in the coming months but hiring the right head coach is arguably one of the most important decisions the front office will make.
