Marc Gasol is ready to get to work with Los Angeles Lakers stars LeBron James and Anthony Davis after officially signing his deal with the Purple and Gold.

Gasol, who was actually drafted by the Lakers all the way back in 2007, signed a two-year, $5.26 million contract with Los Angeles. He is expected to start for the world champions alongside LeBron and Davis.

During an interview with Allie Clifton of Spectrum SportsNet, Gasol revealed what excites him the most about playing with James and Davis (segment starts at 4:38).

The Lakers now have three of the smartest players in the NBA in their starting lineup in LeBron James, Anthony Davis and Marc Gasol. The trio will be deadly together on offense and defense, as we can't forget about LeBron, Davis and Gasol's defensive abilities either.

During the 2019-20 season with the Toronto Raptors, Gasol averaged 7.5 points, 6.3 rebounds and 3.3 assists per game while shooting 42.7 percent from the field, 38.5 percent from beyond the arc and 73.5 percent from the free-throw line. He and his brother, Pau Gasol, are the only two brothers in NBA history to play for the Lakers franchise.

While Davis hasn't re-signed with the Lakers yet, that deal is expected to come soon. Some reports have stated that AD is waiting to see what Giannis Antetokounmpo does, as the two-time MVP can sign the supermax extension with the Milwaukee Bucks.

If Giannis passes on the extension, he can become an unrestricted free agent in 2021 and people around the league believe James and Davis will recruit Antetokounmpo to the Lakers.
