Los Angeles Lakers’ starting center JaVale McGee has added a reliable hook shot to his arsenal, and teammate Dwight Howard seems to have noticed.

Although not as majestic as the original “sky hook” of all-time great Kareem Abdul-Jabbar, McGee has certainly put up some buckets this season using his own version of the fundamental move.

A pumped up Howard was caught on mic during the Lakers’ home game versus the Miami Heat on Friday, dubbing the high-leaping big as “Kareem-Abdul McGee”.

The pair of seven-footers have been a big reason for the Lakers’ 6-1 start this season, holding the fort at the center spot and allowing Anthony Davis slide down to power forward.

McGee has been 5.4 points on 72 percent shooting from the field to go along with 4.3 boards and 1.1 blocks. Howard, meanwhile, has provided quite the spark off the bench in his second tenure in LA, notching 6.7 points, 7.9 rebounds, and 2.1 blocks in just 21 minutes.
