Leon Edwards has broken his silence and details what he wants next. Edwards has been in a tricky position following his win over Nate Diaz.
The English-Jamaican fighter took to Twitter to post an update on what he thought of the division and who he wants next. He brought up some good points but he did leave the Twitter world divided.
Edwards also called out Jorge Masvidal for wanting the next title shot and went after him for losing his last fight. Masvidal famously said he only wants the current champion, Kamaru Usman, next.
He had previously fought him two times, losing a decision and then losing by knockout the second time around. It puts him in a tough spot to get an immediate title shot, again.
Leon Edwards shut down Masvidal for wanting the next title shot. Leon Edwards didn't mention him by name but made it clear who he was talking about.
Edwards is currently on a nine-fight win streak and is undefeated since losing to Kamaru Usman back in December 2015. He has had ten fights since then but his fight with Belal Muhammad became a No Contest following an eye poke.
Leon Edwards is certainly deserving of the next title shot after Usman defends his belt against Colby Covington. The winner will certainly be looking to move on from the other.
Edwards is coming off of a dominant victory over Nate Diaz. The win had some of its shine taken away as Diaz was able to hurt Leon Edwards in the final round and many people felt like Edwards should have been finished.
Leon Edwards has made it clear that the only fight he wants next is the title fight against either Usman or Covington. The winner of that fight will determine who exactly Edwards wants next.
