The Detroit Lions traded Quandre Diggs earlier in the week. His teammates were upset to see one of their team captains be shipped out of town. Even a few days after Diggs was shipped to the Seattle Seahawks, Darius Slay remains unhappy with the organization.

Diggs was drafted by the Lions in the sixth round of the 2015 NFL Draft out of Texas. Once he arrived in Detroit, he became a leader in the locker room and was a close friend of Slay's.

Right after the trade was announced, Slay took to social media to express his frustration with the Lions. Slay, whose contract runs through the 2020 season, said that ‘anyone can be traded' and that he ‘wouldn't care' if he was traded.

The veteran cornerback has spent seven seasons in Detroit and has stated that he would want to sign a long-term extension with the team that drafted him. However, with Diggs being traded, Slay was non-committal of remaining with the Lions beyond the 2020 season.

With the Lions, Slay has been one of the most consistent players at his position. In his five starts in 2019, he's totaled 16 tackles, three pass deflections, a fumble recovery, and an interception.

The Lions are 2-3-1 to begin the season and another loss in Week 8 could prompt them to become sellers at the trade deadline. If they do become sellers, Slay could be the next player that finds himself on a new team in 2019.

At 28-years-old, Slay would undoubtedly garner a ton of interest from cornerback-needy teams in the NFL. Even though, a trade scenario involving the All-Pro corner is purely speculation at this point.
