The Texas Longhorns secured the commitment of the top quarterback recruit in recent memory, Arch Manning. Ahead of his debut season at Texas, UT legend Vince Young dropped an honest take on the pressure Manning will face in Austin, and how he expects him to handle the bright lights. In an appearance on ESPN's First Take, talking with Keyshawn Johnson, Young explained how playing QB for the Longhorns comes with the same amount of pressure as being an NFL quarterback.

“When you're playing at the University of Texas, you're pretty much an NFL quarterback already,” said Young. “You're gonna need to have that pressure and competition in that quarterback room.”

If anyone is familiar with the pressures of being a star quarterback at Texas, it's Young. Having been in a similar position to Manning in the past, Young claimed that the pressure Manning will face isn't too much different from that of an NFL quarterback.

Of course, there's no guarantee that fans see much of Manning on the field at all during his freshman season. As Young pointed out, Texas has one of the most loaded quarterback rooms in the country, consisting of star talents like Quinn Ewers, Hudson Curd, and Maalik Murphy.

Manning, who is the nephew to NFL legends Peyton and Eli Manning, will have one of the brightest spotlights cast upon him in college football history. Young is confident that Arch will be able to handle the pressure he's set to face during his time at Texas, whether he sees game action this year or not.
