T.Y. Hilton was forced to miss this week's game against the Oakland Raiders due to a quad injury that he suffered in the Indianapolis Colts' Week 3 victory over the Atlanta Falcons. The Colts were hopeful that other receivers would be able to step up and that their offense could remain dangerous even without Hilton, but that did not end up working out quite like they had hoped.

When everything was said and done, the Colts fell to the Raiders by a final score of 31-24. They were able to move the ball at times, but they also struggled at times.

The loss to the Raiders shows just how valuable Hilton truly is to this offense.

Some will argue that Hilton isn't an elite wide receiver in the NFL. Others will say that he is a star, but not a superstar. The way that the Indianapolis offense looked without him this week shows that he is a true superstar.

In the first two and a half games of the season that he played with the Colts, Hilton caught 20 passes for 195 yards and four touchdowns. Just looking at that production, it is plain to see that Hilton is a superstar.

Jacoby Brissett was playing in his fourth game since taking over for the retired Andrew Luck. Indianapolis was hoping to have big years from Eric Ebron and Devin Funchess, but Ebron hasn't produced and Funchess went down with a clavicle injury. That leaves the Colts with Chester Rogers, Zach Pascal, and Deon Cain.

Jack Doyle did play a good game for the Colts, but it wasn't enough to fix the absence left by Hilton.

Hopefully, Hilton will be able to return for Indianapolis next week for the team's Sunday Night Football against the Kansas City Chiefs. The Colts will need to put up big numbers against the Chiefs to keep up with Patrick Mahomes and company. If Hilton is unable to go, it is likely that the Colts will end up being on the wrong end of a lopsided final score.

All of that being said, the Colts now sit at 2-2 after their home loss to the Raiders. They are in a tough division with both the Houston Texans and Tennessee Titans being solid football teams, but if they can stay healthy, the Colts are likely still the best team in the division.

Expect to hear more about Hilton and his status for next week early on this coming week. If there was one thing that we learned from today's game, it is that Hilton is needed on the field for the Colts' offense to be capable of making big plays.
