The Orlando Magic began their four-game road trip with a win, beating the Miami Heat 104-99 to keep their playoff hopes alive. The team has now won six straight games, which hasn't happened since 2011:

Orlando is now in the eighth spot in the Eastern Conference and sitting half a game behind the Detroit Pistons for the seventh seed. The Magic are also one game behind the Brooklyn Nets for the sixth seed, and should they win the next three games of this road trip, they could find themselves in a better position heading into the playoffs.

Magic guard Evan Fournier said a couple of days ago that their four-game road swing will be a true test to their capabilities as a team because “playoff teams win on the road.” So far, they are on the right track.

Orlando's next three games will be against the Pistons, Indiana Pacers, and Toronto Raptors, all of which have struggled over their last 10 games, with Detroit and Indiana going 4-6. The Raptors have a 6-4 record, but they haven't been playing great as of late. This will be the perfect opportunity for the Magic to get as many wins as possible so they can further widen the gap between them and the Heat, who's currently in the ninth spot in the conference standings.

Following the road trip, the Magic will have two games at home against the New York Knicks and Atlanta Hawks.

Orlando's last two games will be against the Boston Celtics and the Charlotte Hornets, and both are road games.
