Orlando Magic swingman Terrence Ross recently sustained a hairline fracture in his left toe as revealed by an MRI result, per The Athletic‘s Josh Robbins. The speed of his recovery will ultimately dictate the timetable for his return on the floor for the Magic.

The former Washington product started his playing career as a role player for the DeMar DeRozan-led Toronto Raptors from 2012 to 2017. He was sent packing his bags when he was involved in a trade along with a first-round pick headed to the Magic in exchange for veteran forward Serge Ibaka.

Ross saw an upswing in his career as he inherited a larger role in Orlando. He had his best statistical campaign back in the 2018-2019 season when he generated norms of 15.1 points, 3.5 rebounds, and 1.7 assists in 81 games played.

His numbers slightly dipped last season but he still emerged as one of the team's main contributors with his averages of 14.7 points, 3.2 rebounds, and 1.2 assists in 69 appearances.

Ross bannered the Magic squad which garnered a 33-40 record to secure the final seat to the 2020 NBA Playoffs. They were eventually dominated by the top-seeded Milwaukee Bucks in the first round proceedings in five games which concluded their brief stint in the Orlando Bubble.

The nine-year veteran is currently heading to the second season of his 4-year, $54 million contract signed with the Magic back in 2019. Hopefully, Terrence Ross will have a swift recovery as he is expected to be one of the key players for the Magic in the upcoming 2020-2021 NBA season.
