Man City's attack has been handed a serious blow as Ferran Torres is set to miss six weeks due to a foot injury that he sustained on international duty with Spain, per Manchester Evening News.
Torres has emerged as an integral piece of the side and arguably their best No. 9 despite being a natural winger. He starred for Espana in the Nations League semifinals against Italy but picked up a knock which unfortunately kept him out of the starting XI for the final in a controversial defeat to France. Man City has 11 games across the next month and a half, including a derby against Manchester United and UCL clashes with Club Brugge and PSG.
The former Valencia man will also miss important fixtures for Spain next month as they look to solidify their spot in Qatar 2022. Torres has featured four times for the Citizens this term in Premier League action, bagging two goals and tallying an assist. He's also been lethal for his country in World Cup qualifying, netting four times in six appearances.
Man City has more than enough talent to stay afloat without Torres, but the likes of Jack Grealish, Gabriel Jesus, Raheem Sterling, and Kevin De Bruyne will need to step up in the final third. Pep Guardiola will need to figure out who his best option is going to be in a central role.
