Manchester United faces a setback as both Christian Eriksen and Rasmus Hojlund will miss Denmark's upcoming Euro 2024 qualifiers due to injuries sustained in the Premier League clash against Luton. The Danish pair had to be substituted during United's 1-0 victory, with Eriksen suffering a knee problem in the first half, and Hojlund struggling with a hamstring complaint later in the game.

The Danish Football Association confirmed the duo's absence in a statement, stating, “Christian Eriksen and Rasmus Hojlund have both been injured and unfortunately have to cancel the upcoming games. National coach Kasper Hjulmand has instead selected Jesper Lindstrom and Jens Stryger Larsen for the decisive qualifying matches. We wish a very good recovery for the United duo.”

United manager Erik ten Hag expressed concern about the growing list of injuries, emphasizing the need to wait for a thorough assessment before determining the severity of Eriksen and Hojlund's injuries. The club is already grappling with the absence of Lisandro Martinez, Luke Shaw, Casemiro, Tyrell Malacia, Jonny Evans, and Amad Diallo, while Jadon Sancho remains on the fringes of the first-team setup.

Ten Hag remarked, “You don't want to miss any player. That is our season at this moment – we have so many injuries. But, therefore, you have a squad. We have talked about it many times. But, of course, the routine levels are dropping down, the routine levels in the team, in the way of playing. But, hopefully, players are coming back and those new injuries are not too bad.”

Manchester United faces a challenging period as they navigate through a series of injuries, hoping for a swift recovery for their sidelined players.
