After originally being listed as questionable for the Dallas Mavericks Wednesday's game versus the Cleveland Cavaliers, Luka Doncic, Tim Hardaway Jr., and Josh Green were upgraded to available. Meanwhile, Kyrie Irving and Maxi Kleber were ruled out for the game.

Irving, who is dealing with a right heel contusion, received an injury update from head coach Jason Kidd prior to Wednesday's affair.

“No,” Kidd responded when asked if Irving has an injury timetable, via Grant Afseth of si.com. “His rehab is going well. So, we'll see.”

Kidd also said he hasn't even “thought about the road trip” after being asked if Irving could potentially return during the Mavs' upcoming three games on the road.

Kyrie Irving still dealing with injury

The good news is that Irving's rehab is “going well” according to Kidd. However, the lack of a timetable is concerning.

Luka Doncic has performed at an elite level in recent action. His play has helped the Mavs continue to perform well overall. Meanwhile, players such as Hardaway, Dereck Lively, and Dante Exum have stepped up amid Irving's absence.

Nevertheless, Dallas has certainly missed Irving. He's one of the best guards in the NBA and will help the Mavs compete in the Western Conference once he returns.

Kyrie Irving has appeared in 17 games during the 2023-24 campaign. He's currently averaging 23 points per contest on 47.1 percent field goal and 38.4 percent three-point shooting. Irving has also recorded 5.2 assists, 3.9 rebounds, and 1.2 blocks per game.

His injury status remains up in the air for now. The Mavs will continue to closely monitor Irving's injury situation. Dallas won't rush him back, as they'd rather wait for him to be fully healthy than risk the possibility of further injury by bringing him back too early.

We will continue to monitor and provide updates on Kyrie Irving and the Mavericks as they are made available.
