The MCU will be getting a reunion in a new Stephen King adaptation.
Avengers, assemble!
Mark Hamill and Loki actor Tom Hiddleston will be joined by fellow MCU actors Chiwetel Ejiofor and Karen Gillan in The Life of Chuck, per Deadline.. The film is an adaptation of King's short story of the same name. Also joining the cast is Room star Jacob Tremblay. Mike Flanagan, director of Doctor Sleep, will helm yet another King adaptation.
Chiwetel Ejiofor is best known for his Oscar-nominated role in 12 Years a Slave. He also starred in the Showtime series The Man Who Fell to Earth and Doctor Strange in the Multiverse of Madness. In the live-action Lion King film, Ejiofor portrayed the villainous Scar.
Karen Gillan has starred in a few major franchises, the Doctor Who series, the Jumanji series, and the MCU. In the MCU, Gillan plays Nebula in the Guardians of the Galaxy series.
Jacob Temblay burst onto the scene with his performance in Room. His co-star in the film, Brie Larson, won an Oscar for her performance in the film. He's since starred in Wonder, Good Boys, The Little Mermaid, and Doctor Strange.
The Life of Chuck is a short story in King's If It Bleeds collection. The collection was released on April 21, 2020. Stephen King stories are hot for adapting. Last year, there were a few of adaptations of King's work, Firestarter, and Mr. Harrigan's Phone. Earlier this year, The Boogeyman was adapted by Rob Savage. There are a bevy of other adaptations in the works.
