The New York Mets made a major splash in trading for Cleveland Indians shortstop Francisco Lindor and right-hander Carlos Carrasco on Thursday. But new team owner Steve Cohen is focused on what “matters.”
Cohen—who has become renowned for his personal Twitter account—joked that while the Lindor trade is generating buzz, the reinstitution of the team's black jerseys is the most important item on the agenda.
I know this trade seems to creating excitement but let’s get back to what matters – the black jerseys

Cohen also shot back at a fan trying to troll him in their response.

New York has not rocked the black alternates since 2011, and the look has become synonymous with the team's glory years in the early-2000s. Mets players have also voiced their desire to bring the black jerseys back.
Of course, a uniform kit change pales in comparison to what Lindor and Carrasco bring to the table.
Lindor is arguably the best player at the shortstop position, a switch-hitter who can hit for average and power while also stealing bases and displaying exceptional glove work.
Meanwhile, Carrasco fortifies a rotation that was in desperate need of bolstering on the back end. He is also under club control for the next three seasons, giving the team some stability with both Noah Syndergaard and Marcus Stroman heading to free agency.
New York has made its big play. The next question becomes whether the Mets can extend Lindor—who will be a free agent after 2021—and whether they remain in on George Springer, the top free agent on the market.
In any case, Cohen is having quite a bit of fun as the Mets continue to assert themselves as major players in the market.
