The New York Mets have won their first three series and have the best starting pitching in the majors so far this season. Amazingly, Jacob deGrom hasn't contributed to any of it. While the Mets ace recovers from his shoulder injury, the rest of he team's staff is trying their best to replicate his production. So far, they are almost doing a perfect job.
Tylor Megill has been incredible. He has yet to allow an earned run or a base on balls across 10.1 innings and two starts. Chris Bassitt has allowed just one run in 12.0 innings. Carlos Carrasco has a single earned run to his name in 10.2 innings. Hilariously, Max Scherzer has allowed the most runs among Mets starters so far. He allowed four earned runs in 11.0 innings.
New York's starters have a collective ERA of 1.07, which is not only the best in team history but the best in MKB history since the earned run became an official stat. Last year, deGrom posted an ERA of 1.08 across 92.0 innings.
The Mets rotation's 1.07 ERA (without Jacob deGrom) is the lowest in franchise history through 10 games.

The 1.07 ERA by the Mets starting rotation is the best 10-game start since the advent of the earned run in 1913 per Sports Radar.

While the starters have shined, the bullpen still needs work. Seth Lugo, Joely Rodriguez and Sean Ried-Foley have struggled so far. Manager Buck Showalter still needs to find a proper feel for his relievers. He still has Edwin Diaz, Drew Smith, David Peterson and Adam Ottavino at his disposal, so he should be able to piece together a strong bullpen. The Mets have thrown three shutouts so far this season, the first team to reach that mark.
New York has a 7-3 record without their best player. With deGrom back, things could get even scarier.
