Yet another piece of historic Michael Jordan memorabilia is heading to auction. Sotheby's, the most reputable auction house in the world, will make available a pair of Michael Jordan's game-worn Air Jordan 13 sneakers from Game 2 of the 1998 NBA Finals. The shoes were worn by Jordan in Game 2 against the Utah Jazz in which he finished with 37 points en route to a 93-88 victory to tie the series at 1-1, with the Bulls ultimately winning the title in six games.

The shoe is Jordan's 13th model in his numbered series of sneakers. Sporting a Bred colorway (black+red), the shoes were inspired by the paws of a jaguar. He wore the sneakers for much of the 1997-98 season, and he most notably laced them up in the Finals against the Utah Jazz. Following the game, a Jazz ballboy Jordan had met during shootaround asked the legend if he could have anything from his locker. Michael Jordan took a silver sharpie, signed the toebox of the shoes, and gave them to the ballboy for his services. Almost 25 years later, the shoes are set to become available for purchase via Sotheby's online auction for an estimated $2-4 million dollars.

The most expensive pair of shoes ever sold at auction was a pair of Nike Air Ships, game-worn by Michael Jordan in 1984, that went for a tag of $1.47 million in 2021. A year later, another collector dished out over $10 million for a game-worn Jordan jersey from the same 1998 NBA Finals. With this shoe estimated at over $2 million, it'll be the most expensive shoe ever sold at auction and one of the most expensive pieces of Michael Jordan memorabilia available.

The shoes will be available via Sothebys.com  and will be open for auction April 3-April 11, 2023.
