Michigan and Alabama are set to face off in the Rose Bowl to earn the right to compete in the College Football National Championship game but they're set to face off before New Year's. Per a report by On3 reporter Pete Nakos, both college football powerhouses are the top destinations for USC transfer cornerback Domani Jackson.
Jackson entered the transfer portal on December 18th after two seasons with USC.
Jackson played in 18 games during his time at USC, making 35 tackles and four pass breakups. Hailing from Santa Ana, California, he joined USC as a highly sought-after five-star prospect in the class of 2022. According to the On3 industry rankings, Jackson was ranked as the No. 5 overall prospect and the top cornerback.
Interestingly enough, Jackson played alongside Carolina Panthers quarterback and former Alabama star Bryce Young while in high school. Alabama was also seen as a contender to recruit the young defensive star when he announced he was reopening his commitment before 2021 National Signing Day. He ended up committing to USC anyway, much to the chagrin of Alabama fans.
Michigan also was mentioned to be a contender for Jackson in his initial recruitment out of high school but it seemed as if he leaned more towards the Crimson Tide, being seen wearing Alabama gear on his official recruitment trip.
Domani Jackson would be a welcome addition to either the Wolverines or the Crimson Tide, bolstering their respective already championship-contending rosters. Only time will tell which perennial power he will choose this time around.
