The Chicago Bears will face the Los Angeles Chargers in a game between two teams who have severely disappointed up to this point. Above all, Mitchell Trubisky has had his fair share of struggles to begin the season.

The third-year quarterback has thrown for just 839 yards, five touchdowns, and two interceptions in the five games that he has started in. This past Sunday, Trubisky aired it out for 251 yards and two touchdowns in a loss to the New Orleans Saints.

However, his numbers against the Saints are inflated due to the offense being unable to get into a rhythm until the fourth quarter—when New Orleans resorted to playing prevent defense.

As a result of the offense playing inconsistently, the Bears find themselves in second-to-last place in the NFC North. Luckily for Trubisky, he'll get to face a Chargers team who has lost five of their past six games. With that being said, here are three bold predictions for the Bears' quarterback versus the Chargers in Week 8.

3. Trubisky will rush for 25 yards

Dating back to his college days at North Carolina, Trubisky has shown flashes of being able to use his legs to create plays. In his first three seasons in the NFL, the athletic quarterback has rushed for 25 yards in a game 10 times.

However, this season, he has been hesitant to tuck the ball and gain some yardage on the ground. Even before the shoulder injury that he suffered in Week 4, he had just five attempts for 21 yards.

This week, he'll revert back to running the ball a bit more to provide a spark in Chicago's offense. Trubisky will have his first game of 25 or more rushing yards since Week 11 of the 2018 season.

2. Trubisky will throw 300 yards

Ever since coming into the NFL in 2017, passing yards have not been easy to come by for Trubisky. The North Carolina product has just five games where he has eclipsed 300 yards through the air.

As we've seen throughout his young career, he hasn't improved much as a passer in the pocket. Trubisky doesn't have the strongest arm and he also is inconsistent with his accuracy.

Despite his shortcomings, Trubisky is going to throw for over 300 yards against the Chargers on Sunday. Los Angeles has the fifth-best passing defense in the NFL (216.1 yards per game) so it's easier said than done.

1. Trubisky will throw three touchdowns

While the Bears have struggled to score points, the majority of the blame has gone in the direction of Matt Nagy and Trubisky. After scoring 26.3 points per game in 2018, the Bears have dropped to having the 26th ranked scoring offense (18.7 points) in 2019.

The play from under center has been less-than-ideal and the pressure is rising for Trubisky to perform. So far, he's squandered the opportunity to cement himself as one of the NFL's best young quarterbacks.

With all of the criticism coming in his direction, Trubisky will deliver three passing touchdowns in Week 8. The Bears quarterback has had more games with zero touchdowns than one, but he's also had one three-touchdown performance already this season.
