The Baltimore Orioles are open to trading right-handed starting pitcher Dylan Bundy, according to Ken Rosenthal of The Athletic.

Bundy is coming off of a 2019 campaign in which he made 30 starts and went 7-14 with a 4.79 ERA, allowing 161 hits while striking out 162 batters over 161.2 innings of work.

The 27-year-old was once a top prospect in the Orioles' farm system, but he has been a rather massive disappointment.

Bundy, who was drafted fourth overall by Baltimore back in 2011, made his big-league debut in 2012, appearing in two games out of the Orioles' bullpen. Oddly enough, he did not pitch for Baltimore's major-league club again until 2016, when he hit the mound 36 times with 14 starts. During that time, he went 10-6 with a 4.02 ERA, surrendering 109 hits while fanning 104 hitters across 109.2 frames.

He then became a full-time starter for the O's in 2017, going 13-9 with a 4.24 ERA while giving up 152 hits and registering 152 punchouts through 169.2 innings. Bundy then had a dreadful 2018 season, as he went 8-16 with a 5.45 ERA, permitting 188 hits and a league-worst 41 home runs while striking out 184 batters over 171.2 frames.

While Bundy owns decent strikeout numbers, he has been rather home-run prone, as he has allowed 1.7 home runs per nine innings over the course of his big-league tenure.

That being said, he is still just 27, so perhaps another team will take a flier on him to see if it can fix him going forward.

The Orioles have been dreadful for the past couple of seasons, logging win totals of 47 and 54, respectively. They have made the playoffs just three times since 1998, last doing so in 2016.
