The Chicago White Sox are postseason bound for the first time in 12 years.
Chicago officially clinched a postseason berth after defeating the Minnesota Twins 4-3 on Thursday. The win means the White Sox will be playing October baseball for the first time since 2008, when they won the American League Central division.

The White Sox also increased their lead in the AL Central to 3.0 games and will now hope to win the division with just 10 games to play in the season.
Minnesota took an early lead in the top of the second inning after a Byron Buxton solo home run. The White Sox responded when first baseman Jose Abreu—an AL MVP candidate—homered in the fourth inning.
However, the Twins regained the lead after Buxton hit his second homer of the game in the fifth. Edwin Encarnacion tied the score at 2-2 with a solo shot in the bottom of the frame, but Minnesota again took the lead after Josh Donaldson hit a home run—and was promptly ejected—in the top of the sixth.
Still, the Sox would not die. Chicago scored two runs in the bottom of the seventh inning after Abreu singled to score Jarrod Dyson and Eloy Jimenez followed with a run-scoring double.
White Sox closer Alex Colome came in to shut the door, throwing 1.1 scoreless innings to seal the victory and kick off the celebrations.
The Cubs had been the toast of the town in Chicago for the past five years, but the White Sox are staking their claim as one of the best teams in the baseball.
