Jazz Chisholm Jr. is an All-Star in the making for the Miami Marlins. The 24-year-old second baseman is a hitting machine who is always having fun and making highlights regularly. He showed some flashes of brilliance in his 2021 season and is now emerging as a legitimate star with a grand slam to his name.

Against the division rival Washington Nationals, Chisholm powered a 12-2 Marlins win with his first career grand slam. He hit another home run to record six RBIs, a single-game career-high that ties a franchise record.

After his big game, Chisholm told MLB Network that his personality is his most useful talent. The Marlins star indeed plays with tremendous energy that new-school baseballers are making famous.

In 43 games played so far this season, Chisholm has a triple slash of .255/.310/.541 with 40 hits, 10 home runs, nine stolen bases and four triples, which is tied for the most in MLB. The Marlins use him as a leadoff hitter and he has mashed in the position. His power hitting and speed make him a very effective and fun-to-watch youngster. He could easily make his first All-Star game this season, which could also be the first of many.

The Marlins are usually not a team worth keeping an eye on and they have just a 23-30 record. However, with Jazz Chisholm Jr. and a trio of star pitchers like the wildly underrated Sandy Alcantara, 2021 All-Star Trevor Rogers and budding star Pablo Lopez, Miami could be a baseball hotbed soon.
