Rob Manfred always seems to draw a negative reaction from the masses whenever he is handing down a ruling in MLB. This can be said for many commissioners but Manfred especially.

When MLB made changes over a year ago to shorten double-headers to seven innings and start extra innings with a runner on second base, the moves by Rob Manfred that he approved were met with skepticism. While the goal was to speed up the time of games and keep things entertaining, the result has left many wanting the rules to be flipped back.

Based off what Rob Manfred said Tuesday when talking to the BBWAA, it sounds as though many fans will get that exact wish granted.

These two more recent rule changes sound like they will now be more than likely shown the door, according to Rob Manfred. While the seven inning double headers have provided for swifter games, many haven't approved of the change as initially thought.

The runner-on-second rule is one that has had many MLB fans up in arms shaking their heads. One of the more puzzling aspects for the players is that the pitcher on the mound that starts the inning gets charged for the run if they come around to score even though he didn't yield the runner in the first place. Again, it's provided for a different type of feel in extra innings but Rob Manfred now sounds as though he is going to throw out these ideas following this 2021 season.

Baseball fans can give Manfred a pat on the back for this, can't they?
