The New York Mets are far from stable, especially after just losing back-to-back games to finish a series against the Boston Red Sox. However, Mets outfielder Mark Canha does not seem to be too concerned about the mindset of his team amid New York's struggles.

“Nobody's too down. Everybody's just kind of even-keeled, just kind of waiting for us to show a sign of life here,” Canha said following the Mets' 6-1 loss to Boston at Fenway Park on Sunday, via Anthony DiComo of MLB.com.

Canha also said that after going 0-for-3 with two strikeouts in Sunday's defeat at Fenway Park.

To date, the Mets are just 46-53, good for just fourth in the National League East division, which New York was expected to be a major player in when it made splash after splash in the last offseason.

The Mets are 18.5 games out of first place in the NL East and only five games better than the bottom-scraping Washington Nationals. In addition, New York is also 7.5 games behind the last spot in the NL for a wild-card ticket.

Where the Mets are at the moment is tough to accept for their fans, considering the additions and signings they've made to boost the roster prior to the 2023 MLB regular season.

Instead, the Mets are just 20th in the big leagues with a .716 OPS and 18th with a 4.41 ERA.

If Canha and company are to turn things around, they can't waste much time before turning it on.

They start righting their ship this Tuesday when they start a Subway Series against the New York Yankees in the Bronx.
