Now, the appeal has a huge update that will surely sting Bob Melvin.
Robert Suarez has officially dropped his appeal on illegal substances during the Marlins game. Bob Melvin disclosed that the Padres pitcher will start his 10-game suspension immediately, per AJ Cassavell of the MLB.
This would mean that Suarez will not be available starting with San Diego's game against the San Francisco Giants. The suspension is likely going to end during their series versus the Houston Astros as well. Suarez's absence deals a huge blow to the Padres' MLB wildcard and World Series hopes.
